The Occasional and Evening series are generally limited to name, address and course studied. This series is supported by an original set of indices.

The Entrance Papers are grouped according to subject in numbered volumes, which are in turn comprised of numbered folios. The papers were initially divided into three major sub series; General Literature and Science (or the Senior Department), the Medical Department, and the School (or the Junior Department). In 1832 a sub series for Occasional students was created, and in 1855 a separate sub series for Evening Classes. In 1846, a sub series for Theology was established and also Applied Science (later Engineering), which was split off from General Literature and Science. In 1901 Science as a whole was separated from Arts.
