Items in MS.7807 purchased from various sources: Sotheby's, London, July 1930 and February 1932; Stevens, London, September 1932; Glendining, London, January 1935; presented by Nicholas Locock, Fordingbridge, Hampshire, precise date not recorded. Provenance of no. 3 and nos. 7 and 9 not known; no accession information recorded about nos. 2 and 4. MS.7808/1 pesented to the Wellcome Library by Nicholas Locock (date not recorded); details of the transfer of MS.7808/2 not recorded.

The papers are primarily those of Revd Alfred Henry Locock (1829-1922), his wife Anna Maria, and Charles Dealtry Locock (1862-1946). The papers include a number of items relating to the illness and death of Sir Charles Locock. 1851-1948.
