These rolls of lottery tickets were printed in Dublin in 1753-1754 to raise money for the building of a new hospital in Great Britain St, Dublin, for poor lying-in women. The lottery was later abandoned.
The tickets were discovered in the College Library and transferred to the Archives in 1994, along with an explanatory article.

With an extract from The Book of the Rotunda Hospital by T P C Kirkpatrick MD and H Jellett MD (Bartholomew Press, 1913), which summarises the history of these and other hospital lotteries.
