Joan Malleson was an important figure in ALRA and the FPA/North Kensington Clinic, she undertook pioneering early work in sex counselling. She died in 1956.
These tapes were given to the Wellcome Library in May 2003 by Malleson's son Andrew Malleson, via Hera Cook of the University of Sydney.
10 reel to reel tape recordings relating to Joan Malleson's sex therapy, c early 1950s. These tapes relate to her pioneering early work in sex counselling. There are no identifying details of the individuals interviewed. The detailed descriptions are based on her annotations made on the boxes of the original reel-to-reel-tapes.
The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
Photocopies/photographs/microfilm are supplied for private research only at the Archivist's discretion. Please note that material may be unsuitable for copying on conservation grounds, and that photographs cannot be photocopied in any circumstances.
