Edward Oates (1792-1865), was an attorney, of Meanwoodside, near Leeds, and sometime of Furnival's Inn. He married Susan Grace, the only surviving child and heiress of Edward Grace, J.P., of St Ann's Burley, near Leeds.

Edward Oates (1792-1865), was an attorney, of Meanwoodside, near Leeds, and sometime of Furnival's Inn. He married Susan Grace, the only surviving child and heiress of Edward Grace, J.P., of St Ann's Burley, near Leeds.
These records were transferred to Guildhall Library via the Business Archives Council in 1975. They were transferred to the Business Archives Council by the same person who donated the records of Edward Grace and Co (CLC/B/078). They were catalogued by a member of Guildhall Library staff in 2008. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
