The City of London's first commissions were portraits of the judges appointed to assess property claims in the wake of the Great Fire of London - the so-called 'Fire Judges'. These were followed by portraits of kings and queens and of other individuals who had rendered a service which the City of London wished to recognise.

Typescript edited and unedited versions of memoirs of Lt Col John Alfred Codrington, [1947] entitled 'Gathering moss', 1898-1944, including account of service with British Mission Allied Armies of the Orient, Smyrna, Turkey, 1920, and as British Liaison Officer to French forces in Syria, 1926-1929. Photographs and papers, including notebook with manuscript notes on Regimental history of the Coldstream Guards, military training and preparations for deployment to France, 1917, eight watercolour paintings of churches in French towns, 1918, and photograph of Gen Sir George Wentworth Alexander Higginson at the unveiling of the Guards Memorial, St James's Park, London, 1926.

Papers relating to British produced propaganda for the Indian Army, produced to counter Japanese propaganda aimed to entice Indian Army personnel to desert and fight for the Japanese led Indian National Army, India and Burma, 1943-1945, including correspondence, memoranda, personal papers and propaganda material, 1939-1946. Also, scrapbook album of watercolours, sketches, photographs, menus, invitations and autographs, created 1901-1903 by Beryl White (1877-1954) relating to her life in Sikkim, northern India.

Small mounted oil painting by Thomas Creswick, of a steam train passing Leighton Buzzard on the London and Birmingham Railway line. A note on the reverse suggests that the work was painted in 1837.
