The Physiological Society of Guy's Hospital was founded by Professor Pembrey, who was head of the Physiology Department of Guy's Hospital Medical School from 1900 to 1933. The Society was founded to encourage students to learn how to collect and present scientific information and manage the affairs of a society.

Transferred from Guy's Hospital Medical School Library in 2002.

Records of the Physiological Society of Guy's Hospital, 1901-1963, comprising minutes, 1955-1963; papers read at Physiological Society meetings, 1901-1926, 1949, 1958-1962 (approximately 10 papers per year), on human and animal physiology. Papers cover a vast range of topics, including metabolism, digestion, vision, speech, heredity, nervous system, sex determinism, sleep, blood etc.
