Over the years the Publications department of the College has produced a range of booklets, prospectuses and audio-visual material to promote the specialty of obsterics and gynaecology.
This series was created in 2008, with several publications being transferred from RCOG/P1.
The majority of the records have been transferred from the Publications Department.
Material produced by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists promoting recruitment into obstetrics and gynaecology to medical students and young doctors, 1980-2008. Material includes prospectuses, booklets and promotional videos.
3 filing-cabinet drawers of material were appraised by the College Archivist in consultation with the CPD Administrator in February 2006. A few files were retained by the Department for current use. Routine and ephemeral material was assigned for destruction. Only those files documenting the origins and development of the College's policy and programme in this area were selected for permanent preservation. A full set of CME/CPD documentation was transferred at the same time.
