The brewery was established in 1865 on the High Street, Slough, Berkshire. It was incorporated as R Halley Limited in 1947. A controlling interest was taken by Harman's Uxbridge Brewery in 1954. The brewery ceased trading in August 1963, and entered into voluntary liquidation in January 1967.

Deposited as part of an accession of records from Courage Barclay and Simonds, 1969-1988.

Staff records of R Halley Limited, brewers, including wages sheets; papers relating to taxation, including income tax; papers relating to the fidelity guarantee policy; correspondence about staff, accounts, remuneration and auditors; papers regarding compensation of staff on the closure of the brewery.
