Biographical history
Sir William Rawstorne (died 1684), citizen and grocer, was alderman of Lime Street ward 1678-84 and sheriff 1677-8. His son William Rawstorne, citizen and grocer, was nominated sheriff in 1735 but not elected. He was also of New Hall, Preston, Lancashire.

Sir William Rawstorne (died 1684), citizen and grocer, was alderman of Lime Street ward 1678-84 and sheriff 1677-8. His son William Rawstorne, citizen and grocer, was nominated sheriff in 1735 but not elected. He was also of New Hall, Preston, Lancashire.
The records were transferred to Guildhall Library by Lancashire Record Office in 1954 and 1958, and were catalogued in the same years by members of Guildhall Library staff. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
