Biographical history
The Rectifiers' Club was formed in the late 1780s. It met at the City of London Tavern to discuss matters relating to the trade of distilling (gin, cordials and other British spirits excluding whisky). The members of the Club included many prominent London distillers.

The Rectifiers' Club was formed in the late 1780s. It met at the City of London Tavern to discuss matters relating to the trade of distilling (gin, cordials and other British spirits excluding whisky). The members of the Club included many prominent London distillers.
Records purchased in 2002, and catalogued by a member of Guildhall Library staff in the same year. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
Records of the Rectifiers' Club comprising: minute book 1819-44 and cash accounts 1820-66; and miscellaneous papers, 1819-47.
