Crews Hill Golf Club was founded in 1916 in parkland near Enfield. Charles Whitcombe was their professional golfer between 1925 and 1950. He still holds the course record, set in June 1937.

Records deposited by Roneys, Solicitors, 3 London Wall Buildings, London, EC2M 5PN, in October 1985, via BRA (No. 2234).

Papers collected by the solicitors in the course of their work, comprising lease of two cottages on Williams Farm, Crews Hill, Enfield, by Admiral Sir Hedworth Meux to Crews Hill Club, 1920; agreement between Crews Hill Club and C A Whitcombe for latter to act as professional golfer to club, 1926; lease by Trinity College, Cambridge to Crews Hill Club of land forming part of Rectory Farm, Enfield, 1927.

Also agreement and lease by Earl of Lucan to Captain Edgar Archer of Church Farm, Laleham, 1921 and 1924 and assignment of lease of the same property by Captain Archer to Charles Norris, 1928.
