The Royal Society of St. George was established as a patriotic society in London in 1894, with the aim of promoting Englishness and the English way of life. It is not affiliated to any political party. The City of London Branch was formed before the Second World War.
The records were deposited in the Manuscripts Section of Guildhall Library by the Branch in 1999 and later, and have been catalogued by members of Guildhall Library staff at various dates since 1999. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
The records of the Royal Society of St. George, City of London Branch, comprise minutes of the council 1950-2005 and entertainments committee 1974-1995, and dinner menus 1953-2008.
