The church in Pear Tree Street, off Goswell Road, was consecrated in November 1875. Before this date, services were held at a hall in Allen Street (now Dallington Street). The church was badly bombed in 1940. The last marriage register was closed in September 1953 on the union of the parish with Saint Luke, Old Street.

Records deposited in the Greater London Record Office in July 1958, July 1961, and December 1967.

Records of the parish of Saint Paul, Clerkenwell, including registers of baptisms, marriages, church services, confirmations and churchings; papers relating to the renovation of the exterior of the church, and a parish magazine.
