Biografie
Bernard Sandler MD, DMR, DRCOG (1907-1997) was a gynaecologist and obstetrician, and a pioneer of infertility treatment. Dr Sandler opened the first clinic for the investigation of both male and female infertility at the Manchester Jewish Hospital in 1947. Until 1978 he was Lecturer in the Department of Gynaecology, University of Manchester, and Physician in Charge, Infertility Clinic, Manchester Jewish Hospital, and published much on infertility and on related issues of sex education and marriage guidance.

Bernard Sandler MD, DMR, DRCOG (1907-1997) was a gynaecologist and obstetrician, and a pioneer of infertility treatment. Dr Sandler opened the first clinic for the investigation of both male and female infertility at the Manchester Jewish Hospital in 1947. Until 1978 he was Lecturer in the Department of Gynaecology, University of Manchester, and Physician in Charge, Infertility Clinic, Manchester Jewish Hospital, and published much on infertility and on related issues of sex education and marriage guidance.
These papers were received through the kind auspices of Dr Naomi Pfeffer, who had been given them by Dr Sandler in connection with her own research into the history of infertility treatments. Additional material (7/9-11, 8/12-20, 18, and a few odd items filed elsewhere as appropriate) was received directly from Dr Sandler in April 1996.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.

Please note that material may be unsuitable for copying on conservation grounds, and that photographs cannot be photocopied in any circumstances. Readers are restricted to 100 photocopies in twelve months. Researchers who wish to publish material must seek copyright permission from the copyright owner.
