Born, 1615; educated at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge (BA, 1637, MA, 1640) and Merton College, Oxford (MD, 1646); Physician to Charles II, 1660-1683; Physician to James II and William and Mary; Member of Parliament for Camelford in Cornwall, 1685-1687; died, 1694.

Original purchased at Sotheby's 27/5/1924, Lot 341; transcript probably produced in-house and transferred from Wellcome Historical Medical Museum offices, January 1926.

Contemporary copy of Sir Charles Scarburgh's account of the last illness of Charles II, and of the postmortem examination; also twentieth century translation, 1685-1924.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
