Biographical history

Serjeants' Inn was an extra-parochial place, constituted a civil parish in 1858. The civil parish was co-terminous with the inn of the same name in the City of London, south of Fleet Street. There was a separate and unrelated Serjeants Inn in Chancery Lane, which was not extra-parochial.

Serjeants' Inn was an extra-parochial place, constituted a civil parish in 1858. The civil parish was co-terminous with the inn of the same name in the City of London, south of Fleet Street. There was a separate and unrelated Serjeants Inn in Chancery Lane, which was not extra-parochial.

Ms 2424-5 were deposited in Guildhall Library by the City of London Valuation and Rating Department in 1920. Ms 3026 was deposited by St Dunstan in the West in 1932. They were catalogued in 1938 and 1932 respectively. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.

The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section order has been retained.
