The church was formed in 1822 at Wellington Place in Stoke Newington and merged with Devonshire Square (Particular) Baptist Church in 1884. The building subsequently became the West Hackney Synagogue.

The church was formed in 1822 at Wellington Place in Stoke Newington and merged with Devonshire Square (Particular) Baptist Church in 1884. The building subsequently became the West Hackney Synagogue.
The records of both churches were deposited with the Manuscripts Section of Guildhall Library in 1982. They were subsequently catalogued by a member of Guildhall Library staff. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
Records of the Shacklewell Baptist Church, Stoke Newington, including meeting minutes; register of members; and financial accounts.
The records have been sorted into an order which reflects divisions between the different functions and operations of the organisation and its administration.
