The company was established in 1895 to take over existing tea estates in Assam and Dooars, India. It had offices at 60 Gracechurch St 1895-1912, 2A Eastcheap 1912-68 and 13 Rood Lane 1968-71. The Caparo Group took over its records in 1982.

The company was established in 1895 to take over existing tea estates in Assam and Dooars, India. It had offices at 60 Gracechurch St 1895-1912, 2A Eastcheap 1912-68 and 13 Rood Lane 1968-71. The Caparo Group took over its records in 1982.
The Caparo Group took over the archives when it took over the company and donated them to Guildhall Library in 1982. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
Records of the Singlo Tea Company Limited, comprising constitutional documents and minutes of the Board of Directors and annual general meetings. The records are held off-site and therefore require 24 hours notice for access.
