The manuscript belonged in 1654 to the Augustinian hermits of Fribourg, Switzerland. It later belonged to Sir Thomas Phillipps (1792-1872), baronet, an antiquary and bibliophile whose collection included c60,000 manuscripts of various kinds, some relating to the administration of Swiss towns. Various manuscripts were sold after Sir Thomas's death, some to the German government, and were dispersed to several libraries. Formerly Phillipps MS 24505. Bearing also on the inside front cover: a 68.655; and on the back of the binding: 966.

Paper manuscript bound in the original oak boards, covered with stamped leather, with brass clasps. One hand. A few red initials. Originally 128 folios: some are now missing from the end. 16cm.
