These volumes were transferred to the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre in September 1998 by Southampton Museum Service, to which they had been transferred by Chelmsford Museum on the basis of a circular letter of 1914 from a Southampton dentist found in one of the volumes.

Four volumes of notes made by E J Thomas from lectures to trainee nurses at the Poplar and Stepney Sick Asylum, Bromley by Bow, East London, c 1905-1910.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
