Torch Publishing Co-op was set up by a group which included Eric Huntley, Colin Prescod, Faustin Charles and Sophie Fekarurho. The co-operative produced the Torch newspaper and also sold books via post and stalls at cultural events.

Torch Publishing Co-op was set up by a group which included Eric Huntley, Colin Prescod, Faustin Charles and Sophie Fekarurho. The co-operative produced the Torch newspaper and also sold books via post and stalls at cultural events.
Their archive collections were the first deposit from the African-Caribbean community to be made to the London Metropolitan Archives, in 2005 with additional deposits since that time.
Records of the Torch Publishing Co-operative, including three editions of the newspaper Torch produced by the cooperative; and letters of support from members of the public including Linda Bellos, Council member of Lambeth LB.
These records are arranged into two series: LMA/4462/O/01 CORRESPONDENCE;
LMA/4462/O/02 NEWSPAPERS.
These records are available for public inspection, although records containing personal information may be subject to access restrictions.
