John Ward was vicar of Stratford-on-Avon and a medical practitioner.

The manuscript collection of the Medical Society of London, of which this material formerly was part, was purchased by the Wellcome Library in 1984.

Diary of John Ward, transcribed by Sir D'Arcy Power (1855-1941).

In two sections.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.

The original diaries, covering the years 1648 to 1681, were sold by the Medical Society of London in 1928, and are now in the Folger Shakespeare Library (MSS. V.a. 284-299).
