The first six volumes were acquired by the Library in the 1950s. Nos.1-5 were accessioned originally as accessions 301172-5 and stated to be presented by Mrs Wenyon; however, Dr. Neal of the Wellcome Museum of Medical Science has stated that they were left by Wenyon in his office in the Wellcome Laboratory of Tropical Medicine, from which Neal "inherited" them some years later and presented them to the Library. No.6 was accessioned as no.301176 and stated to be received from Edward Alfred Minchin, Wenyon's lecturer at University College London. These six items all entered the Library's Contemporary Medical Archives Centre (CMAC), as it then was, as acc.153. No.7 was received much later from Dr. Finlayson of the Wellcome Medical Sciences Museum and accessioned into the CMAC as acc.164, in March 1984.
