The Westminster Group of hospitals was created as an administrative group with the establishment of the National Health Service in 1948. Westminster Hospital was the principal hospital and others included Westminster Children's Hospital, All Saint's Hospital, the Gordon Hospital, Putney Hospital, Queen Mary's Hospital in Roehampton, Chartam Park Convalescent Home, Parkwood Convalescent Home and Yarrow Convalescent Home. The Group was dissolved and broken up in 1974 with NHS reorganisation.

Westminster Hospital was the principal hospital and others included Westminster Children's Hospital, All Saint's Hospital, the Gordon Hospital, Putney Hospital, Queen Mary's Hospital in Roehampton, Chartam Park Convalescent Home, Parkwood Convalescent Home and Yarrow Convalescent Home. The Group was dissolved and broken up in 1974 with NHS reorganisation.

Material received in multiple accessions from 1969 onwards.

This archive comprises the records of Westminster Hospital, 1627-1974, and associated institutions: All Saints Hospital, 1911-1983; Chartham Park Convalescent Home, 1945-1962; Gordon Hospital, 1884-1961; Parkwood Convalescent Home, 1890-1966; Putney Hospital, 1903-1978; Queen Mary's Roehampton Trust, 1890-1968; Westminster Children's Hospital, 1903-1981 and Yarrow Convalescent Home, 1894-1964.

The records include those generated by the administration of the various institutions which made up the Westminster Hospital Group, in addition to a variety of patients' and clinical records. There are also visual sources such as photographs and prints and some printed and bibliographic items.

These records are arranged according to a classification scheme for hospital records: General Hospital Administration (A), Patients' Administration (B), Finance Office (D), Endowments (E), Related Documentation (Y) and Prints and Photographs (PH).

These records are available for public inspection, although records containing personal information are subject to access restrictions under the UK Data Protection Act, 1998
