The Central Joint Committee was formed after a Conference held by the Workers' Educational Association and Oxford University in1907 which produced a report Oxford and Working Class Education in the following year. The Joint Committee comprised 7 people nominated by the Vice-Chancellor of Oxford University and 7 by the WEA Executive Committee. It was dissolved in 1957.
