This company was established in 1919, at 3-4 Royal Exchange Buildings, for non-life insurance business in the United Kingdom and overseas. It was taken over by Vehicle and General Insurance Company in 1968 and sold to Commercial Union Assurance in 1971.
Commercial Union deposited the records of World Auxiliary Insurance Corporation in the Manuscripts Section of Guildhall Library in 1976. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
Records of the World Auxiliary Insurance Corporation Limited, comprising minutes of general meetings, board meetings, and managerial committee meetings. They are stored off-site and require 24 hours notice for access.
