A silk-thrower or silk-throwster was someone who converted raw silk into silk thread. The Company was formed in 1629 but is now defunct.
Deposited in the Manuscripts Section of Guildhall Library between 1949 and 1957. The Manuscripts Section merged with London Metropolitan Archives in 2008. The records have been catalogued by members of Guildhall Library staff.
The records of the Worshipful Company of Silkthrowers comprise a grant of arms, ordinances and charter of incorporation, all dated 1629.
