The Library holds a collection of Bank Exhibition Announcements (1991-2000) which is a collection of flyers, cards and press releases produced by the artists' group Bank, to announce their exhibitions.

Papers relating to the estate of John Bacon the younger, sculptor, including title deeds and documents relating to the purchase, ownership and sale of properties in the City of London, Bethnal Green, Paddington, Marylebone, Hoxton, Shoreditch, Stepney, Knightsbridge, Westminster and Kent; correspondence; articles of co-partnership with Charles Manning; and lists of sculptural works underway.

Papers of the Artists' Suffrage League, 1905-1912, including correspondence, drawings, cartoons, prints, poster, postcard, programmes and their covers, notices press clippings, album of designs by Mary Lowndes.

Records of the Artists League of Great Britain, formerly the Imperial Arts League. The records relate mainly to the administration of the league. The earliest material are the council minutes from 1909. There are also files of individual members; especially interesting is the file of Sydney Cockerell, bookbinder, which includes samples of hand made end-papers. Also of interest are the subject files on sketching and painting in war time (1915-1942) and a file of newspaper cuttings (1939-1940) concerning exhibitions and bequests during the war.

Records of the Artists' Annuity and Benevolent Fund, including records relating to the establishment of the fund, and joint records of both branches; records of the Annuity Fund; records of the Benevolent Fund; and records relating to John Pye, a founder member of the fund.

Records of the Artist Placement Group (APG), [1960-1999]. Including files relating to: their approaches and placements within industry and government departments; the APG's involvement with art colleges, galleries, universities and artists' groups; lectures and symposia; correspondence with artists; the day-to-day running of the Group; publications, press and publicity; audiovisual material and photographs.

The archive spans the years 1982-2007 and comprises: administrative papers, including correspondence, 1982-2004; documentation of A and A-organised events and conferences, 1982-2007; minutes of meetings, 1982-2000; accounts, 1994-2003; membership lists, 1980s-1990s; and documentation of A and A funding bids, 1983-2004. Printed matter includes a complete run (to issue 60) of the Art and Architecture Journal (1984-2006), and a range of other A and A publications and ephemera (postcards, fliers), many of which were designed by Pentagram Design. There is also a set of posters used to advertise the lecture series. The collection is augmented by a range of peripheral material published by other sympathetic bodies, including the Public Art Forum and the Landscape and Arts Network.

Papers of Doris M Armitage, 1911-1974, comprising 2 letters from Fanny Davies, 1911 and 1930, mainly in regard to lessons; 4 letters, 1960, 1961 an undated, from Helen Henschel with thanks for appreciation of Henschel's talks and her book When Soft Voices Die (London, 1944); postcard from Ethel Smyth, 1925, with thanks for appreciation of Smyth's books; letters regarding bequeathal of Armitage's papers to the RCM.

Records of the London County Council Architect's Department relating to places of public entertainment, 1883-1951, comprising a large collection of plans and drawings of places of public entertainment submitted in connection with their licensing. They include not only plans and drawings of premises which have ceased to be licensed but the older plans and drawings of many premises which continue to be currently licensed. Exhibition halls are included under this general heading as matter of convenience, although the statutory control exercised over them sterns normally from the sections of the London Building Acts dealing with temporary and special buildings and structures and not from the licensing legislation applicant to places of public entertainment.

The collection includes plans of tea rooms, churches and parish rooms, lecture halls, public baths, club houses, taverns, schools, assembly rooms, schools, academies, town halls, theatres, music halls, and cinemas. Also papers relating to exhibitions at Earls Court, Holland Park and White City; papers relating to fires and panics in places of public entertainment and other public buildings; comparison between L.C.C regulations (1901) on protection of places of public entertainment from fire and corresponding provisions in provincial and foreign cities and historical notes on the statutory control of theatres and music halls.

Map marking the site of Tyburn Tree. Tyburn Tree was the infamous gallows, erected in 1571, at a site near to the modern Marble Arch. The gallows at Tyburn were in the shape of a triangle, allowing several felons to be executed at once. The gallows were last used in 1783; their site is now marked by three brass triangles mounted on the pavement on an island in the middle of Edgware Road at its junction with Bayswater Road.
