Papers, 1924-1962, of Reginald John Beagarie Moore, comprising correspondence and papers relating to his missionary work in Africa. Includes annual reports of the United Missions in the Copperbelt (1937-1940); reports of his work at Mindolo (1934-1939, not 1936-1937); typescript copies of his publications; copies of published articles; and photographs of Copperbelt scenes. Also includes a copy of Moore's anthropological study The Witchdoctor's Prescription.

Papers of Mary Edith Durham, 1912-1920, comprise album of newspaper cuttings, largely taken from The Nation, on various subjects including World War One, Christianity, and mainly by W.H. Nevinson and including letters to the editor of The Nation, and other publications by Durham. Loose items include a typewritten copy of a 'Memorandum for His Excellency the Minister of Foriegn Affairs, The Consulta, Rome' concerning Albania's supply of copper and coal, Foriegn Affairs: A Journal of International Understanding (No 8, Vol 1, 1920) and Yllit Mengjezit (The Morning Star) (No 6, Vol 2, 1917).

Papers of Samuel Holland, 1740, comprising four volumes of manuscript notes from Charles Alston's lectures on 'Materia Medica'. The first volume is titled Dr Alston's Lectures, 1740. The other volumes are: Volume 1 containing notes on minerals, lead, silver, copper, iron, tin, alumen, borax and vitriolum, 1740; Volume 3 containing notes on vegetables, roots, bark, leaves and flowers, 1740; Volume 4 containing notes on fruits, seeds, juices, and animals, 1740.

Papers, 1865-1891, of Charles Stephen Hill, comprising share certificates and related documents for 20 companies (mostly mining companies - gold, silver, copper, lead and tin) in Latin America, the United States, Australia, India and the United Kingdom.

Correspondence, papers, notebooks and specimens (copper and photographic) compiled by Sir Henry James.

The majority of this correspondence is based around the following themes: James's work for the Ordnance Survey (particularly the book of maps and photographs produced by the OS of Jerusalem), James's investigation of the corrosion by sea water of the copper bottoms of ships, letters discusing George Biddell Airy's proposed system of projection and personal letters of invitation to James.

The majority of the photographs relate to 'The Wreck of the RHONE', and in particular, of a survivor of the shipwreck, a cabin boy called John Bailey. (The RHONE was a steam packet ship, built in London in 1865. It sank off the coast of the Virgin Islands in October 1867, after being struck by strong winds. Of the 197 people on board only 24 survived. The wreck of the RHONE is now regarded as one of the world's most famous wreck dives).

The sketchbook consists mostly of sketches of trilobites drawn whilst James was in Ireland and the notebook contains notes on military topics.
