Papers concerning American theatre and opera scrapbooks, 1875-1892, comprise to scrapbooks containing programmes of plays, concerts and operas performed in the USA, with particular reference to New York and the Metropolitan Opera House, from 1875 to 1892. MS1088/2 includes postcards of members of singers performing in the Metropolitan Opera 1890 to 1891 season, posing in some of their operatic roles. The volumes contained two loose inserts, which have now become MS1088/3 and MS1088/4.

Day book, 1688-1707, probably belonging to Thomas Arnold, pipe layer and miller. The accounts relate to purchase of pipes, hay, bran, farrier's work; tradesmen appearing in the accounts include plumbers, pipe borer, hayman, paviour, farrier.

Records of the Church of England Diocese in Europe. The records mainly relate to the administration of the Diocese, the oversight of chaplaincies and relations both with other organisations working within the Diocese and with other churches on the Continent. The bishop established a Bishop's Council to act as an advisory body for the Diocese.

It should be noted that many of the files are general and contain information on a variety of topics e.g. administration, finance and chaplaincy. This is especially true of the large series of correspondence between the diocesan administration and the chaplaincies, Ms32699/1-624.

There is a 30 year closure period on the Diocese in Europe material except Mss 32667/1-12, 32687 and 32688/1-12 which have a 50 year closure period and Ms 32699/1-624 which are closed for 75 years.

Papers of Mary Edith Durham, 1905, comprise Albanian ballads collected between May and June 1905, including Voyvoda Milosh of Drobnjak and the maiden. MS 47/2 also includes a basic Albanian/English dictionary.

A collection of material relating to Harry Cusden Ltd. The collection includes business diaries kept by Harry Cusden, 1919-1943, papers relating to the running of the business including numerous documents relating to war damage repairs, the purchase of the properties, leases, etc. The series also contains personal papers, share certificates and customer correspondence. There is a large collection of photographs including photographs of the exterior of the shops, window displays, staff and staff outings, as well as a large collection of miscellaneous photographs showing family, friends, holidays, events etc. Many of these photographs are unidentified and undated. There is also a series of various price lists and advertisements for the business, trade cards, ephemera relating to Harry Cusden's role as Councillor, newspaper cuttings and other pieces of ephemera.

Thanking De Morgan for his letter of 14 November 1858, giving information about Francesco Galigai's 'Pratica d'Arithmetica' (1548), and asking for further details. Letter enquires about the library of Dr [Daniel Mitford] Peacock and asks De Morgan to get Count [Guglielmo] Libri to send catalogues of sales he was to hold [in March and August 1859] in England and in Paris. Enquires about further editions of De Morgan's 'Arithmetical Books' (1847) and offers to get one printed in Rome.

Papers of Iris Murdoch, c 1980-1995, comprising correspondence addressed to Roly Cochrane from Murdoch including 138 letters and 59 cards and postcards, which demonstrate Murdoch's interest in someone with whom she became fond through correspondence alone. Within the letters Murdoch discusses her work, confiding in Cochrane, who continued to write to her during the onset of Alzheimer's disease. The collection contains a final note from John Bayley referring to her illness. The collection also contains a copy of Facing Reality, 1997, a work by Roly Cochrane.

Papers of Iris Murdoch, c 1981-c 1995, comprising letters to Sugana Ramanathan, responding initially to Ramanathan's letter expressing interest in Murdoch's books, which later developed into a literary friendship. The letters discuss Jesuits and a Jesuit College (presumably in India) and Murdoch's interest in this, as she has had 'many highly intelligent Jesuit pupils'; describe their first meeting, and reflect on Murdoch's works including the Gifford lectures.
