Commentary on Boerhaave's Aphorismi de Cognoscendis et Curandis Morbis, in Usum Doctrinæ Domestic Digesti ab Hermanno Boerhaave, Lugduni Batavorum, MDCCIX by unknown writer. The first edition contains 1479 Aphorisms, but in the later editions the number was increased to 1495 by the addition of two sections, Rachitis and Rheumatismus. This manuscript follows the later editions.

Addresses by Louis de Broglie including 1929 Nobel address, a fragment of a series of lectures at the Sorbonne and an address to a scientific conference in Warsaw in 1933.

In both cases 'An sept de la République' is written beneath the above dates, and is presumably the date when the MS. was copied.

Papers of the Wellcome Physiological Research Laboratories (WPRL), 1903-1927, comprising publications including handbooks of early information and volumes of staff reprints, and a microfilm copy of a file relating to the history of the Laboratories.

The collection comprises two papers on obstetrical practice.

The papers in this collection comprise official documentation issued by the authorities in New Spain (specifically, in Mexico). They include the appointment of José Gracida y Bernal (1760?-1815) as one of the Protomedicatos who were in charge of medical matters in New Spain (WMS/Amer.96); three certificates issued by Protomedicatos giving individuals licence to practice medicine (WMS/Amer.51, 64 and 97); a copy of a notice suspending quarantine procedures in the city of Mexico during the fever epidemic of 1813 (WMS/Amer.3); and a order authorising payment to F.X. de Balmis (1753-1819) for work on indigenous plants in the treatment of syphilis (WMS/Amer.62).

These items comprise disbound sections of a recipe book, possibly that of a hacienda; the probable area of origin is Amozoc de Mota, Puebla, Mexico. They give recipes for the treatment of diseases such as typhus, cholera and smallpox. WMS/Amer.55 comprises a copy of a contemporary broadside by Gaspar Escayola.

The collection comprises a detailed financial report on the state of the hospital, dated 1819 (WMS/Amer.80) and a prescription book for the women's section of a large hospital, dated 1840 and conjecturally assigned to the Hospital de San Andrés (WMS/Amer.87).

WMS/Amer.94 comprises documents relating to Andrade y Pastor, the majority by other hands: certificates of qualification, licences to carry firearms, bills for anatomical equipment and medical books, letters of appointment, an account of a medical case in which Andrade y Pastor took part, and official correspondence between him and other members of the faculty. WMS/Amer.136 consists of biographical drafts dating from shortly after Andrade y Pastor's death, by an unknown individual.
