J Lyons and Company Limited, food manufacturers and caterers, comprising application forms for and information about The Lyons Club. Dated to the 1960s. Lyons ran sports clubs for staff members and their families, providing sports facilities.

Records of J Lyons and Company Limited, food manufacturers and caterers, 1891-1995. The archives reflect all aspects of the company's history. There are some of the usual company records relating to management, shareholding and administration, but the collection is particularly strong in what may be termed ephemera. There are hundreds of photographs, from 1887 up to the present day, a few films and videos, and large collections of press cuttings, advertisements, menus and even a set of lithographs which were commissioned by the company after the Second World War as a way of brightening up Lyons Corner Houses.

In particular, there is a substantial collection of legal papers relating mainly to catering contracts entered into by the company, 1893-1978, and a series of private ledgers, 1894-1921. Circa 5000 books collected by Vane Ivanovic. The strength of the library is books on 20th Century Balkan history and books on the Second World War, although there are books on a number of other subjects including the history of the Olympic Games and Spear-fishing. There are also a small number of books pre-dating 1900, going back to the 1490s. The vast majority of books are in English, although a small number are in other Western European languages or Serbo-Croat.

There are also a number of items deposited on loan in 1965 by Mrs Ismay's daughter-in-law, Mrs Julia Ismay. They consist of four diaries kept on a voyage to South America in 1856 by T.H. Ismay and also diaries kept by his son, Joseph Bruce Ismay (1862-1937), on a journey round the world, 1887 to 1888.
