Records of Saint Katharine by the Tower Hospital, later known as the Royal College of Saint Katharine and the Royal Foundation of Saint Katharine. Records include charters and licences; rules and regulations; legal papers; minutes; correspondence and letter books; annual reports; financial accounts; registers of baptism, marriage and burial; banns books; Vestry minutes; papers regarding the manor of the hospital; papers regarding poor relief; papers of the Commissary Court of the Royal Peculiar including marriage allegations; papers regarding estates and properties including title deeds and surveys; maps and plans.

This catalogue also includes records deposited in the Library from the Valuation and Rates Department of the Corporation of the City of London in 1920. These volumes relate to rate assessments and poor law administration of the Precinct and probably reached the Corporation via the neighbouring parish of St Botolph Aldgate, to which the inhabitants of the Precinct would naturally have turned in 1825. Later Precinct books are catalogued within the archive of St Botolph Aldgate.

Records of the Field Lane Foundation. The earliest records date to 1842 in its incarnation as the Sabbath School. These comprise management committee minutes which run as a continuous series to 1984 and reflect the change from Sabbath School to Ragged School in 1850.

Important series include the deeds and papers of Field Lane dating from 1801 to 1961. There are also series relating to each of the major homes and organisations associated with or run by the Field Lane Association including the Home Workers Aid Association and the 5 holiday or retirement homes: Eastwood, Dovers, The Priory, Holly Hill and Singholm. There is also a set of annual reports from 1847-1996 and a series of printing blocks used for many of the Field Lanes' publications.

This collection contains material relating to Sir Michael Savory's years as Lord Mayor of the City of London, (1984-2005); Sheriff (1996-2003); Alderman (1893-2005) and Common Councillor (1992-1995). It also contains material relating to his work with the Britain-Austrailia Bicentennial Trust (1988-2005) and HSBC's "HSBC in the Community" programme (2000-2002). There is also some material relating to his personal life (1996-2005).

Records of particular interest are those relating to Michael Savory's mayoral year. There is a complete set of day files (CLA/081/A/03) documenting the events he attended; a large number of photographs (CLA/081/A/06) and files relating to his many visits, mostly overseas (CLA/A/04). The collection illustrates the preparation for the mayoral year and the planning involved in various activities and events (CLA/081/A/01). Press clippings (CLA/081/A/05) and the electronic records (CLA/081/A/07) illustrate the public side of the Lord Mayor.

The collection also includes aspects of Sir Michael's shrieval year and mainly contains a selection of day files (CLA/081B/02) illustrating events attended. Papers and correspondence relate to major events (CLA/B/01) like the presentation of the shrieval chain.
