Biographical history
John Martin Munro Kerr (1868-1960), Regius Professor of Midwifery at the University of Glasgow from 1927-1934, was a Foundation Fellow of the College and its first Vice President from 1929-1932.
Archival history
This small collection of documents relating to the life of J M Munro Kerr was evidently brought together by Kerr himself. In 1988 the records were discovered in Melbourne, Australia, by Dr Alexander Gillies, the son of Dr John Stewart Gillies, a student of and later personal doctor to Munro Kerr. In July 1989 they were presented to the RCOG by the Royal Australian College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in memory of Dr J S Gillies.
