Records of Fulham Manor including the papers of the clerks to the homage jury. This collection is complementary to the minute books preserved in DD/0015. All the correspondence in the papers is reflected in the minutes, and some comparable loose papers are also attached to the minutes. The papers do, however, in many instances provide greater detail, including some additional plans.

The decision to take the subject group as the basic unit, although unavoidable both because of the original order and the size of the collection, means that the list is in some ways summary. In particular:

1) The form of documents is not usually given. Most groups are composed primarily of correspondence.

2) The name of the party is only given when one, or occasionally two or three, persons or authorities are involved.

3) The party may or may not be the same person as a party named as the subject of the correspondence.

Records of the parish of Saint Peter, Hornsey, including registers of baptisms, marriages, banns of marriage, confirmations, and church services; papers relating to parish boundaries; papers relating to the advowson; Churchwardens' financial accounts; Parochial Church Council minutes; and Vestry minutes.

Records of the parish of Saint Paul, Chiswick, including registers of baptisms (1870-1953), marriages (1872-1964) and banns of marriage (1872-1913), as well as parish magazines, PCC minutes, preachers', readers' and collections registers, and service registers.

Records of William Bagshaw relating to two properties in which he had an interest, 42 Craven Street, Strand and 3 Great Russell Street, Bloomsbury, and to a grave in Highgate Cemetery he purchased. One document shows him acting as a trustee. Two apprenticeship indentures have no obvious link with the rest of the documents, and may have come from another source.

Papers relating to the estates of the 4th Marquess of Salisbury comprising documents relating to property transfer, such as conveyances, mortgages, valuations, leases and abstracts of title. The properties mentioned are primarily in the St James's Park area, Westminster.

Papers relating to the London estate of the Marquess of Camden. The records consist almost exclusively of deeds and leases for property on the estate.

This collection comprises records of the William Cotton Estate (later the Bow Common Estate) and documents the acquisition and running of the Cotton estate from [1714]- 1936.. The records include marriage settlements, trustee appointments, wills and probates, legal case papers, administrative papers for the Limehouse estate, papers relating to property transactions, registers of properties, plans and maps, catalogue of wines for auction and register of leases. Some of the material concerns the Bow Common Estate Company Ltd.

Papers relating to the Manor of Hampstead include court rolls and minutes, admissions and enfranchisements, licence books, plans and surveys, leases, papers relating to the Hampstead Heath Act, and family papers.

The collection includes a small number of documents relating to the family estates in Sussex and Essex.

Records relating to the Oxford Street Pantheon, comprising counterparts of the shares/leases sold by owner Philip Elias Twist to fund the building, 1774-1788. The leases include a room by room schedule of fixtures, fittings and furnishings, and marginal plans.

Records of the Spencer-Philip family; primarily papers relating to property transactions, including extracts from court rolls, abstracts of title, leases, plans and rents, for premises in the Manor of Stepney (Whitechapel, Stepney and Mile End) and in Essex. Also building leases and agreements relating to the King David's Fort Estate, St George's in the East, and papers and plans concerning construction of London and Blackwall railway through that estate; an Act of Parliament relating to roads in St Leonard Shoreditch; and family certificates (baptisms, marriages, burials). The collection includes a manorial custumal for the Manor of Stepney, 1587.

The collection consists of three main types of record: There is administrative material which includes both the 'formal' records of Reader Brothers (Builders) Limited, such as the Memorandum and Articles of Association, Minutes of meetings, Registers of Members and records relating to shares; as well as various accounts ledgers, cash, petty cash and wages books, diaries and notebooks.

Secondly there are files, planning applications and other legal documents - some with plans attached.

Then there are books and other printed material related to the building trade and lastly there are plans and drawing of housing projects undertaken by the company.
