Dr Pearce was born in Edinburgh, 1905; educated at George Watson's College and the University of Edinburgh; Physician-in-Charge, Department of Psychiatry, St Mary's Hospital, Paddington; the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for Children; and the Royal Masonic Hospital; Medical Director of the Portman Clinic and Institute for the Study and Treatment of Delinquency; member, officer and advisor to many committees on delinquency and children's welfare, and was an examiner for the Royal Colleges in Edinburgh and elsewhere; died, 1994.

Given to the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre in February 1996 by Dr Pearce's widow; file no 18, given by Mrs Pearse to the RAMC Museum (their reference no 2232), was transferred to this collection with the agreement of Mrs Pearse and the RAMC.
Papers of Dr John Dalziel Wyndham Pearce, 1933-1994, including published and draft papers re juvenile delinquency, and relating to RAMC psychiatry service, Second World War. Includes account of case of religious fervour in an ambulance unit, 1941.
The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
Photocopies/photographs/microfilm are supplied for private research only at the Archivist's discretion. Please note that material may be unsuitable for copying on conservation grounds, and that photographs cannot be photocopied in any circumstances.
