Also records of Barker Family (MS 19982, 20007, 20065), 1764-1905. The records comprise private accounts, receipts and notices concerning life assurance policies and investments, and genealogical notes.

Records of G Street and Company Limited, bookseller, newsagent and stationer. The earliest records of the firm date from 1865. There are some earlier share certificates, 1825-54, but these appear to have belonged to John Leathwait, presumably a predecessor of Leathwait and Simmons, an advertising agency and newspaper supply firm, which Streets took over in 1918.

There are also a few records of subsidiary companies : EC Advertising Company Limited/G. Street and Co. (Provinces) Limited (Ms 33953); Streets Public Relations Limited (Ms 33954); Lionel Jackson and Partners (Ms 33955) and W Hopwood and Company (Ms 33956).

These records comprise compilations of London signs, 1649-1767, of advertisements by goldsmiths, 1666-1731, and list of city stage-coach and carrier services, 1749.

Papers of L A Plummer relating to the New Leader, comprising 1. Scrap book containing samples of stationary and circulars and cuttings, mainly advertisements in other journals, 1922-1927; 2. Promotional letters for New Leader, also The Miner and The Post. 1925-1930. 3. Report by L A Plummer on a visit to the USA to investigate the American newspaper advertising system for The Evening Standard. 1931.
