Cecil Roth (1899-1970), Jewish historian, compiled a report and catalogue on the archives of the United Synagogue and its predecessor synagogues in 1930. A copy of the catalogue is available within this collection (reference ACC/2712/13/01/50).

Deposited as part of a larger accession of material from the United Synagogue. These items were part of the original deposit.

The records within this section comprise those items which do not technically belong within the United Synagogue or its member synagogues or related charities and societies. They consist largely of trading accounts of various Jewish merchants, and accounts of the Beth Hamedrash, Chief Rabbi and small Jewish bodies.
