Victor Scheuer was a Belgian physician based at Spa, where he attended the Princes d'Orléans and other European nobility. He was a collector of autographs and his professional correspondence, involving contact with various notables, contributed to his collection.

Victor Scheuer was a Belgian physician based at Spa, where he attended the Princes d'Orléans and other European nobility. He was a collector of autographs and his professional correspondence, involving contact with various notables, contributed to his collection.

The majority of the collection purchased from Charavay, Paris, April 1931: in general, these accession numbers are not carried on the items themselves. The remainder of the collection purchased from: Seine stalls, Paris, July 1930 ; Charavay, Paris, September 1930, September 1934, November 1934, January 1936 and at an unknown date before 1937.

Papers of Victor Scheuer including signed letters, mainly autograph, many with descriptive notes attached (nos. 2-4 originally grouped together), most concern various persons' health; autographs of various nobles or notables in the form of letters to Victor Scheuer and correspondence and miscellaneous papers, 1894-1908.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
