The records of the Accident Offices Association largely comprise minutes (mostly unsigned) with some accounts. The latter also relate to some of the other bodies with which the association was concerned. Initially, the business of the association was conducted through its chairman, the General Purposes Committee and the Rating Committee (from 1907). Committees were subsequently established to deal with particular areas of business, for example the Motor Offices Committee and Fidelity Offices Committee (in 1913). The work of these main committees was often carried out by standing committees; sub-committees were set up to deal with particular issues and aspects of the areas of business concerned. Additional committees were established as time went on, such as the Employers' Liability Committee (in 1947). An Emergency Powers Committee was set up in August 1939 to run the association during the Second World War; it functioned until June 1947. This explains the gaps in the main series of committee minutes between 1939 and 1947.

Records of the British Insurance Association, mainly minutes of General Meetings and Committee meetings. Many of the minutes are unsigned copies. In addition, many minutes are accompanied by related papers, such as agendas, reports and correspondence. The collection also includes extensive correspondence and circulars. The records are held off-site and require 48 hours notice for access.

The records include some records of the Planet (later Citizen) Assurance Corporation Limited, which was absorbed by the Association in 1874.

The archives contain many references to the Provident Life Office, the sister company of the County Fire Office, with which it shared many of its premises and staff.

The London and Lancashire Insurance Company Limited records comprise constitutional documents, minutes, annual reports and accounts, seal books, policy registers and other administrative papers.

The Provident Life Office collection comprises constitutional records, minutes, annual reports and other administrative items, as well as the life policy registers for 1806-1906.

The 'Place in the Sun' project, funded originally by Heritage Lottery Fund and led by London Archive Users Forum in partnership with the City of London Corporation, is an on-going project to index a run of policy registers (Ms 11936). The collection mainly comprises of explanatory booklets for pension scheme members and associated publications such as annual reports which were used by UPS to produce Pension Scheme Profiles.

These are grouped by company (or in a few instances by pension scheme) and arranged alphabetically, following the arrangement of Pension Scheme Profiles. A file's scope and content lists which booklets and other publications are held for a company. The explanatory booklets often included update addendums, application forms or other inserts: these have only been noted if they are unusual. Occasionally a scheme's entry in Pension Scheme Profiles is held.

The collection also includes other PIRC and UPS publications, and publications Bryn Davies acted as a consultant on.

Records of the Pensions Research Accountants Group, comprising: minutes of the Executive Committee and Annual General Meeting (1976-1999) and the annual accounts (1977-1997); papers of working parties working on reports and publications; papers of working parties producing responses to consultations; material relating to outreach; membership files kept by Group members; and publications produced by the Group (1978-2014).

The collection consists of reports (discussion papers, research papers, technical papers, working papers, briefing papers and reference manuals) produced by the Pensions Policy Institute between Sept 2002 and Mar 2010. Some reports are only available in an electronic format as PDFs (currently held on two CDs).

The series of reports have been arranged and numbered in the order they were published: if the reports had more than one part they listed under the same number and distinguished by a letter A or B. This numbering system has been used consistently across both formats.

The series does not include the Pensions Policy Institute's first report Retire at 72 (Feb 2002), the mid-project review of Shaping a stable pensions solution (Oct 2005) (paper 22) or the participant paper outlining case studies for the TUC's Pensions Champion training programme (Jul 2009) (paper 47).

The collection consists of copies of Pension Fund Indicators (1994-2009 in hard copy, 1973-2008 in PDF format) and the annual Surveys of Investment Management Arrangements (1993-2000 in hard copy, 1990-2000 in PDF format). The PDF documents are currently held on 2 CDs.
