Sir William Smith, citizen and member of the Company of Waxchandler, was sheriff 1741-42 and alderman for Aldgate Ward 1747-52.
These items were transferred to Guildhall Library via the British Records Association and were catalogued by a member of Guildhall Library staff in 1952. The Guildhall Library Manuscripts Section merged with the London Metropolitan Archives in 2009.
