Papers relating to Edward Grainger, comprising notes on his lectures on anatomy, [1819-1824], taken by an unidentified student. The volume is the second of two; the first volume of notes is not held.

The letters are mostly between Gosset (known as 'Student') and Sir Ronald Aylmer Fisher (1890-1962) who became Professor of Eugenics at University College London. Letters from other scientists are interleaved where they bear on the correspondence.

Widdows Golding collection comprising a commonplace book containing records of cases at the London Hospital about the year 1786, including notes on operations performed by Richard Grindall, Henry Thompson, George Neale, and other surgeons; notes on surgery, midwifery and anatomy. (The anatomical notes are illustrated by fine water-colour drawings). Journal kept by John Gallop during the building of the MRC Cyclotron Unit, Hammersmith, 1949-1956, plus reports, correspondence and photographs, regarding the MRC cyclotron and many in American institutions. The 'MRC Policy' files contain reports and correspondence generated during the planning and execution of the cyclotron project, and give a good picture of the background negotiations as well as the day-to-day administration. Gallop's tutorial to the Stafford Hospital Postgraduate Medical School (G.1) summarises his view of the process. Both Gallop and J W Boag sent detailed reports of the cyclotrons which they visited in the USA in 1949-1950 (C.1-6), which Gallop prepared for publication (C.7) and lectures (C.8). The correspondence in Sections D and E contains further reports, and the personal correspondence (Section F), especially the letters from Boag, includes further thoughts on cyclotron development and use.

File of case notes mainly relating to the work of Dr Robert Knox and William Fergusson at the Old Surgeon's Hall and Edinburgh Royal Dispensary, but also referring to earlier cases, 1827-1837, including an operation to correct a perforated anus in a young child, with accompanying correspondence recalling the case, 1841, and operations to rectify a hernia and hare lip, infant limb fractures, defects of the spermatic cord, and a post mortem examination of the abdominal cavity; printed prospectus of the summer classes in practical anatomy and operative surgery undertaken by Dr Robert Knox, 1832; single volume of case notes made by Fergusson while at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh, 1839-1840, including examples of necrosis, syphilis, frost bite, but principally fractures, mainly of the tibia, femur, fibula and cranium.
