            Other records include schedules of property (1890-1954), bills of quantities, specifications and plans for estate buildings; a staff register listing details of service (1891-1968) (LMA/4656/E/01/001); printed notices, press cuttings (1889-2000), published articles and histories. Histories concerning the development of the Trust's work, personalities and life on the estates can be found in series LMA/4656/B/01/05, LMA/4656/F/01 and LMA/4656/F/03.

            Records relating to the Dublin Fund are contained in this collection within minutes and reports to circa 1903 only.

            Records relating to tenants can mainly be found in the registers of tenants (series LMA/4656/D/08) held for the following estates only: Brandon Street, Walworth; Draycott Avenue, Chelsea; Fulham Palace Road, Hammersmith; Lever Street, Finsbury and Pages Walk, Bermondsey. In the same series there is also an estate book for Snowsfields, Bermondsey which provides tenant details. Also held is Secretary's correspondence concerning compensation cases relating to named tenants (1913-1936) (LMA/4656/B/01/03/001). Names can also be found in rate assessment books (LMA/4656/D/05/002-003) and in some reports to trustees (LMA/4656/A/04).

            The records in the CLRO are thought to be one of the finest and most complete municipal archives in Europe. However, researchers may notice some substantial gaps and these merit an explanation. The majority of the records of the Freedom of the City prior to 1681 and the City's Cash accounts prior to 1632 were either destroyed in the Great Fire in 1666 or in another fire in the Chamber (the finance department of the Corporation) in 1786. Similarly, it is thought that a fire at the Sessions House in the Old Bailey in 1877 destroyed the early Sessions minutes and files, as well as the bulk of the supporting papers. The paucity of surviving Sheriffs' Court records for the medieval period is thought to be because these records were considered to be the personal property of a Sheriff, who might be called upon to produce records in order to account for his actions during his time in office long after his Shrievalty had ended. Similarly, it is thought the records of coroner's inquests have not survived in any quantity before 1788 because inquests were not held in a court building until relatively recently, and so the records of inquests were considered part of the personal papers of office holders rather than administrative records.

            Records of Joshua Alexander, solicitor and property developer, recording the drawing up of building agreements and the granting of leases of the resulting houses. None of the agreements or leases survive but the pattern of development can be traced through the accounts of advances for building and the ground rents received for leases.

            Building agreements and lease books: These books record cash advances made by Joshua Alexander and his business partner William Bradshaw under building agreements for the development of their various estates. When leases were granted of newly erected houses, ground rents received under them were likewise recorded. Apart from including names of lessees and addresses of property leased, the books are heavily annotated with references to court proceedings, assignments of interests and other actions necessary for administrating estates. Each book is indexed under names of tenants.

            Rentals: These record the payment of ground rents by lessee of houses on the various estates described above. Each rental is arranged by estate and contains name and address of lessee or assignee, address of property rented, amount of ground rent due and summaries of totals..

            Letter books: family and personal letters. Copies of letters from Lionel Alexander of personal and family nature, many concerning involvement with Jewish institutions, charities and general affairs, also copies of letters to press and articles.

Despite a few gaps in the minute books, the most regrettable being the absence of the first minute book, the records give a clear picture of the development of a trade benevolent enterprise. The gaps are in part compensated for by the survival of accounts and cash books from the foundation of the institution and by a diary for 1837 belonging probably to the first secretary. The records are in good condition.

            Records of the Field Lane Foundation. The earliest records date to 1842 in its incarnation as the Sabbath School. These comprise management committee minutes which run as a continuous series to 1984 and reflect the change from Sabbath School to Ragged School in 1850.

            Important series include the deeds and papers of Field Lane dating from 1801 to 1961. There are also series relating to each of the major homes and organisations associated with or run by the Field Lane Association including the Home Workers Aid Association and the 5 holiday or retirement homes: Eastwood, Dovers, The Priory, Holly Hill and Singholm.             Personal papers of Millie Miller, Member of Parliament. The collection consists mostly of official parliamentary incoming and outgoing correspondence when Miller held office as MP for Ilford North. There are also maps, plans, brochures, and newspaper cuttings relating to housing in Stoke Newington from the 1930s, and during the late 1950s when Miller chaired the Housing Committee. The correspondence files are varied. Letters include those from; interest groups, including the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the Socialist Medical Association, the Married Women's Association, the Association of Jewish Women's Organisations in the UK, and National Council of Women of Great Britain; local authorities, including Camden and Redbridge Borough Councils and Waltham Forest Area Health Authority; businesses local to the Ilford North constituency, including Thorn Electrical Industries Limited; Ilford North constituents; and letters from other MPs and Ministers.

            The material reflects Millie Miller's keen interest in the promotion of women's rights, her membership on various committees and councils, delivery of speeches to women's associations, and her campaigns against girl slavery in the sex industry, battered wives, and sex discrimination. The material also details Miller's involvement in the World Conference of International Women's Year 1975. The correspondence touches on the Government's relations with Israel and the difficulties facing ethnic minorities, particularly Jewish communities. A large proportion of letters relate to Miller's constituency in Ilford North, Redbridge LB, with particular reference to housing, immigrants, and the views of constituents on local and national issues.
