The Architectural Association Archives comprise of the administrative and educational records of the Architectural Association Inc. (1847-), encompassing material related to the AA's governance, legal and financial operations, property holdings and educational activities. To date, less than one quarter of all the AA's archival records have been formally catalogued, with the focus of phase one of the cataloguing having been upon basic administrative records, including Council and committee minute books and agendas, constitutional records, Registers of Directors, property leases and vital company documents. Phase two of the cataloguing process is ongoing and is focused upon the educational records of the AA school, its staff and its students.

Ephemera, correspondence and other material relating to Kingston School of Art (later Kingston College of Art). Subjects covered include exhibition invitations, the Reginald Brill Exhibition (1998-9); and minutes of Kingston School of Art Governor's Meetings [1950]-1966.

Collection of corporate and student publications produced from the Hornsey College of Art, Middlesex Polytechnic and Middlesex University, 1956-2001, including prospectuses, 1956-1987; handbooks and diaries, 1980s-2001; publicity produced for art and design shows, 1980s-2001, notably for textiles, fashion and fine art, and including posters, catalogues and invitation cards; and architectural plans of the Cat Hill campus.

Papers of Sir Richard Owen, 1837-1863, comprising an autograph letter from Sir Richard Owen to Sir Astley Cooper, 9 Jan 1837. Relating to the purchase of John Flint South's collection. Cooper's reply is also written on the letter; an autograph letter from Richard Owen of the British Museum, to the President and Vice Presidents of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, 28 Jan 1863. Material submitted by UAL students for the annual 'Tell Us About It' project. Submissions for each student include a piece of work accompanied by a written statement which is intended to reflect their experience studying at the University of the Arts London. The submissions vary in form and media as students were given an open brief. Material includes digital video files; paintings; booklets; textiles and typescript statements as well as 3D objects including glass bottles and wooden boxes.

The project did not run in the academic year 2013-2014 therefore there is no series for that year.

A photographic collection contains images relating to the history of the College and examples of students' work, 1910s-ongoing, including over 5,000 prints; a separately administered photographic record of student work contains c40,000 slides of installation shots of student work exhibited in the degree shows, 1961-1978 (incomplete), 1979-2002 (complete), and upwards of 60,000 born-digital images, 2003-ongoing.
