Nuffield House for paying patients was opened in 1935 on the site of the original medical school buildings of 1825. It was provided by Lord Nuffield for less well-off patients.

Records of Nuffield House, Guy's Hospital, including minute book of the Nuffield House Committee, 1935-1936; Council of Management minutes, 1936-1948; certificate of incorporation, articles of association and related papers, 1936; register of members, 1936-1947; financial records, 1936-1949; fee books, providing information about the name, address, age, religion and marital status of patient, dates of admission and discharge, doctor (through whom admitted), room numbers and weekly maintenance charge (variable according to room), condition for which admitted, result of any operation and account-maintenance, medical fees, telephone calls etc. itemised, with date paid and receipt number, 1935-1948; photographs of the exterior and interior of Nuffield House, 1935 and prospectus, 1936.

The records are arranged in four sections according to a classification scheme for hospital records: Minute Books and General Administration (A), Finance and Accounts (D), Miscellaneous (Y) and Photograph and Print Collection (NHph).
