Diaries recording William Halle's daily life, working as an artist and at the Telephone Exchange. He writes about trying to sell paintings to galleries, organising exhibitions and records his worries over money, his health and his sister, who lived in South Africa. The diaries also record his thoughts on various friendships and sexual relationships.

A collection of material relating to Harry Cusden Ltd. The collection includes business diaries kept by Harry Cusden, 1919-1943, papers relating to the running of the business including numerous documents relating to war damage repairs, the purchase of the properties, leases, etc. The series also contains personal papers, share certificates and customer correspondence. There is a large collection of photographs including photographs of the exterior of the shops, window displays, staff and staff outings, as well as a large collection of miscellaneous photographs showing family, friends, holidays, events etc. Many of these photographs are unidentified and undated. There is also a series of various price lists and advertisements for the business, trade cards, ephemera relating to Harry Cusden's role as Councillor, newspaper cuttings and other pieces of ephemera.

Letters written from Australia, New Zealand and South America from Jackson, a commercial traveller, to his wife Emily, who was living in Wandsworth. Between November 1891 and August 1892 Jackson travelled to Australia and New Zealand, and wrote home to his wife with his impressions of Melbourne, Ballarat, Launceston, Sydney, Christchurch and Dunedin, as well as details of his journeys and everyday activities. In 1893 he went to Brazil and Argentina and was in Rio de Janeiro during a revolution, being forced to leave the city before travelling on to Buenos Aires, including having to spend time in quarantine on the Isla de Flores. His third trip was between October 1894 and September 1895 and was also to South America, visting Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Mendoza, Valparaiso and Iquique. The letters for this trip include a description of crossing the Andes by road and the effects of the altitude. Many of Jackson's letters refer to how much he misses his wife and children and to his daily routine, although he also regularly refers to concerns over his health and occasionally specifically refers to missing his physical relationship with Emily.

Most of the documents relate to 1 Solna Avenue (also named as Pimpernel, and later as Padva). This was later subject of a compulsory purchase order by the London County Council to form part of the Ashburton Estate. Some documents relate to the owners (the Roffey family builders) and their own residences at 46 Chartfield Avenue (formerly Chartfield Road), 26 Charlwood Avenue and 71B Dorking Rd Epsom; and to other property at 38 and 40 Charlwood Avenue.

The collection consists of an indenture of settlement on the marriage of Mrs M Field, 1866, and a copy of the will and probate of Mary Land following her death, 1884.

Documents relating to Candahar Work, Candahar Road, Battersea.

A collection of miscellaneous deeds relating to properties in Battersea and Wandsworth including Alma Road; Morgan Crucible Company Ltd and May and Baker, Battersea; Russell House, Balham Hill; 22 and 24 North Street Wandsworth; 40-44 Bridge Road, Battersea; and 32, 35, 36 and 37 Little Europa Place, Battersea.

Includes leases relating to ground on the south side of Fernlea Road, the south side of Selkirk Road, and 157-161 Bedford Hill Road, Balham.

The collection of deeds relate mainly to two acres in North Field, Wandsworth, part of Frying Pan meadow and ten houses standing on it, to mortgages of the premises and the sales of the equity of redemption. The deeds of 26 April 1728 and of 8 June 1767 include other lands in North Field purchased by John Essington.

The collection is made up of minute books, a register of attendance, and a register of prizewinners at the annual flower shows. There is also a run of Monthly Bulletings produced by the society and a run of show schedules.

The collection includes probate records, tax records, correspondence and miscellaneous property records.

The collection is comprised of two parts. The first contains records relating to the administration of the school, such as a series of pupil records cards, accounts, staff handbooks and other material, as well as copies of the school magazine and Old Girls Association newsletters. The second part of the collection contains material belonging to a former pupil Eleanor Roberts, who attended the school between 1928-1936. The records include her school exercise books and diaries.

The collection is made up of papers belonging to the second headmaster of the school W.V. Wallace and his wife who also taught at the school. The papers include correspondence with the parents, a visitors book, exercise books and other material produced by the students, school newsletters and magazine, as well as papers and letters relating to the closure of the school in 1986. There is also a significant amount of photographs from the 1960s onwards showing various school events such as sports days, concerts, plays and other events.

Correspondence and documents created by Denis Paul. Denis Paul was an author and philosopher with a strong interest in Wittgenstein. He corresponded with many individuals regarding this interest, notably with author Iris Murdoch amongst others. The records of the King's College London Institute of Psychiatry Camberwell Register comprise record and index cards of psychiatric patients, data collection parameters and instruction literature, and related notes and correspondence, [1965-1985]. Half the collection in volume terms consists of record cards of patients containing personal information, dates and details of admission, diagnosis and treatment, with some background comments (boxes 1-31). These are arranged in a numerical sequence that correlates roughly to the date upon which a new patient entered the study. The vast majority of these date from the 1970s. An alphabetical index card system and index book are available to trace the names of individual patients (boxes 32-43). The remainder of the collection (boxes 44-74) comprises questionnaires of some psychiatric patients engaged in the study [1964-1985]; Umatic and VHS video tapes of interviews with psychiatric patients and sufferers of depression, with some interviews with triplet children, 1979-1992; copies of the death certificates of psychiatric patients in the study, [1975-1995]; notes, correspondence, user manuals and trial information relating to the collection of data in the project, including computer databases and user manuals of programs associated with the Register, [1964-1985]; yearly progress reports of the project, 1964-1968; census and population statistics of the Camberwell study area, including street names and indexes, [1964-1985]; data and published material on similar epidemiological studies, principally at Worcester and Cardiff, 1970-1985; secondary literature on the methodology of case registers, 1968-1981.

These consist mainly of Council minutes and supporting material, 1948-1989; Committee minutes including Finance and Management Committees, 1953-1985; Annual Reports and Accounts, 1961-1974; policy reports on the development and strategic direction of the Village, 1959-1973; correspondence with Millicent Coleman regarding Trust business and liaison with the National Children's Home, 1953-1985.

Manuscript volume of summary surgical lecture notes compiled by Professor Albert Carless, 1907-1911, possibly for the instruction of nurses, under a wide variety of headings comprising surgical bacteriology and its manifestation in the descriptions of the types and treatment of skin lesions, gangrene, ulcers, septicaemia and tetanus; the treatment of arterio-venous wounds, aneurysms and haemorrhages, and the diagnosis and treatment of gastric ulcers and carcinomas, peritonitis and injuries to the abdominal walls; skeletal abnormalities including rickets, inflammation of the bone and spinal incongruities, syphilis and skull fractures. The collection also includes loose pages listing the subject of individual lectures.

The collection comprises a copy of a diary compiled by the surgeon Harold Edwards in 1939, specifically describing the emergency arrangements undertaken at King's College Hospital with the outbreak of war. Edwards was in charge of implementing these plans and the diary outlines these and the reactions and opinions of staff between September and October 1939.

File of case notes mainly relating to the work of Dr Robert Knox and William Fergusson at the Old Surgeon's Hall and Edinburgh Royal Dispensary, but also referring to earlier cases, 1827-1837, including an operation to correct a perforated anus in a young child, with accompanying correspondence recalling the case, 1841, and operations to rectify a hernia and hare lip, infant limb fractures, defects of the spermatic cord, and a post mortem examination of the abdominal cavity; printed prospectus of the summer classes in practical anatomy and operative surgery undertaken by Dr Robert Knox, 1832; single volume of case notes made by Fergusson while at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh, 1839-1840, including examples of necrosis, syphilis, frost bite, but principally fractures, mainly of the tibia, femur, fibula and cranium.

Papers of Colin William Fraser McClare, c1957-1981, comprising biographical and autobiographical material; laboratory notebooks c1964-1976; 'ideas' diaries; drafts for lectures and papers (not all published) c1959-c1976; teaching material, in particular for a course on the 'Social Impact of the Biosciences' which started in 1973, with which McClare had been closely involved; a set of McClare's publications including his major papers on bioenergetics and the correspondence arising; correspondence, 1964-1976 (mainly early 1970s), includes letters exchanged with the philosopher Sir Karl Raimund Popper, who offered considerable encouragement to McClare's early attempts to formulate and publish his scientific ideas, and whose philosophy McClare acknowledged as a profound influence.
