A postcard and transcription from Hans Woltär to Moritz Kupfer, 1942, regarding the provision of supplies and queries about the health and well being of family and friends.

French Anti-Nazi leaflet, 1938, entitled 'Et Voici La Preuve', which disclaims the thesis that the Kristallnacht pogrom was a spontaneous, popular, outpouring of anger. The leaflet incorporates a facsimile of a document from the Kriminalpolizei, Vienna, headed 'Judenaktion' in which it is made obvious that Kristallnacht was organised from above.

Papers of Ordinary German women, [1938-1944], comprise copies of diary entries praising the Führer and written by a German woman whilst expecting her child and after his birth, at and near Bielefeld, Westfalia, 1938-1939, and a manuscript collection of essays in praise of Hitler and the German Volk by Frau E Hennig, [1944].

Papers concerning conditions in Europe for Jews, 1940-1946, comprise a typescript copy of a diary written by a Jewish refugee from Berlin, describing life in Belgium during the occupation, 1944; copies of extracts from Luxemburg newspapers regarding press freedom; postcard of the Luxemburg Synagogue, which was burned down in 1940, 1940-[1945] and many typescript reports concerning conditions for Jews, notably including a report on the effect of the ceasefire agreement between Germany and France on people in the French camps and also on Jews in the occupied and unoccupied zones of France.

German soldiers' letters collection, 1942, comprises various Feldpost letters of different German Wehrmacht soldiers to their families, January-November 1942. These include a letter announcing the death of a soldier in Stalingrad; envelopes with stamps showing Adolf Hitler; an envelope which doubles as a folded map, presumably showing a part of Russia and a photograph of Wehrmacht-soldier in Russia.

Papers of Archibald Hamilton Rowan, 1823, comprise a letter to Sir John Sinclair. '...As a small specimen of our [Irish] taxation H.R. sends in a separate cover, a resume of the local taxes of this city; on which it is intended to petition parliament this session. Our Att[orney] Gen[eral] has consented to present it. H.R. has procured the constitution of some of the parishes of London, and would feel himself much obliged to Sir John Sinclair if he could conveniently inform him, how those local taxes are levied in Edinburgh ...' .

Papers of Andrew Wilson, 1809, comprise a letter to [W L Mansel], Bishop of Bristol and Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, requesting that 'his Lorship will accept of this copy of the only stereotyped Greek Testament in the world, as a small memorial of A.W.'s sense of his Lorship's partiality to the art of Stereotype Printing'.

Papers of Brenda Elizabeth Spender, 1925-1947, fourteen letters written to Spender from Constance Holme (1 letter), Walter de la Mare (1 letter), Wilson Midgley (1 letter), George E B Saintsbury (6 letters and 4 cards) and Siegfried Sassoon (1 letter). Most items concern business carried out by Spender in her role at the literary editor of Country Life.

Papers of Aldous Leonard Huxley, 1918 , comprise a letter his brother, Julian Sorell Huxley, discussing books and society and literary figures.

Papers of Alexandre Dumas, [1830-1845], comprise a letter To 'Mon bien cher Hugo' [Victor Hugo], regreting that he was out when Hugo called but hopes to see him the following day.

Papers of Anne Isabella Ritchie, [1912-1913], three letters and one inscribed visiting card (for Lady Ritchie and Miss Hester Ritchie). Two of the letters are addressed to H Remsen Whitehouse and the other to Colonel Rivett Carnac. No year is given on the letters, but dates of 1912-1913 seem plausible: Remsen Whitehouse met Lady Ritchie at Colonel Rivett Carnac's house, Vevey, Switzerland, in April 1912, and two of the letters are written on mourning paper, perhaps due to the death of Sir Richmond T W Ritchie in October 1912.

Papers of Ann Benson Proctor, 1877, comprise a letter to Bryan [Charles Waller], nephew [of Procter's late husband, Bryan Waller Procter], written on the death of his father [Nicholas Waller, formerly Nicholas Procter, Bryan Procter's brother].

The UCL College Archives are comprised of material charting the history of the university, from its establishment in 1826 to the present day. Most of the collection consists of material created in the day-to-day running of the institution and includes records such as foundation deeds and papers, committee minutes, administrative correspondence, department records and reports, early student society/association papers, staff and student files, building plans and maps, artwork and photographs.

The correspondence and papers of Thomas Gold, astrophysicist, 1920-2004. The papers that comprise this collection provide a fascinating insight into Thomas Gold's research, views and life as an academic. They relate to almost very aspect of his career from his work at the Admiralty Signal Establishment, research into the theory of hearing and controversy over his proposal that the surface of the moon would be covered with a layer of fine-grained rock powder, to his advocacy of the contentious theory that oil and gas deposits are non-biological (abiogenic) in origin and his proposal, proved correct, that microbial life exists deep beneath the earth's surface.

Papers of Ebenezer Cooke, mainly printed, including published articles and papers on the teaching of art and design; ephemera concerning Cooke's involvement with the International Art Congress for the Development of Drawing and Art Teaching and the Education Society; notes taken at lectures, including on physiology, 1869, and on a course of lectures given by James Sully on 'Art and Vision' in 1880; report book [possibly belonging to Ben M Jones of the Diocesan Training College, Chester] with criticisms of lessons given by various teachers, including on their use of illustrative drawings, 1900-1901; papers relating to the London County Council Report of the Conference on the Teaching of Drawing in Elementary and Secondary Schools and Training Colleges, 1907-1909. Manuscript notes from an unidentified teacher training college, including 'Course of lectures for 1st years', on 'principles of teaching'; 'principles applied to methods'; 'methods of teaching'; 'class teaching'; 'collective teaching'; 'chief tests of efficient teaching' in different subject areas; 'questions to test the efficiency of a school' on a range of subjects including furniture, discipline, subjects of instruction and methods of teaching in different subjects. Also includes 'Heads of lectures for students of the second year' and 'Notes of lessons on how a lesson should be prepared' and sample lessons including:'Notes of a lesson on the whale'; 'The uses of the participle'; 'The root of man'; 'Division of fractions'. Also enclosed are separate notes on 'Registration, organization and methods as effected by the Revised Code'. It is unclear whether these notes were compiled by a lecturer or a student.
