Though some of the vouchers relate to the schoolmaster's accounts, others presumably belong to treasurer's accounts no longer extant; all have been placed in quarterly bundles, since conclusive evidence on the original arrangement is lacking.

Correspondence of Chief Rabbi Nathan Adler, 1868-1901. A small number of records survive from around 1868 for the Chief Rabbinate of Nathan Adler and more from the late 1870s onwards - around the time Hermann Adler began to undertake many of his father's duties for him. The records consist of bundles of letters to the Chief Rabbi from communal organisations and individuals in Britain and overseas.

The collection comprises published books and journals, published and unpublished articles and reports; conference papers; pamphlets and leaflets; newsletters, research papers including interviews, questionnaires and case studies; field reports; working papers; statistical data; press cuttings; bibliographies and audio-visual resources including videos, DVDs, tapes, CDs, multi media CD-ROMs, photographs and slides. Topics include conditions in the countries of origin of refugees; causes of flight; migration; asylum; assistance and relief programmes; adaptation and integration of refugees into new communities; groups including ethnic groups, religious groups, gender groups, age groups, social class and family; and organisations including intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations.

Papers of Charter 87, 1987-1997, including minutes of a Steering Group; a complete run of the 'Newsletter' and occasional publication 'News Updating'; correspondence, chiefly with the Home Office and press cuttings relating to asylum-seekers and refugees.

Records of the Field Lane Foundation. The earliest records date to 1842 in its incarnation as the Sabbath School. These comprise management committee minutes which run as a continuous series to 1984 and reflect the change from Sabbath School to Ragged School in 1850.

Important series include the deeds and papers of Field Lane dating from 1801 to 1961. There are also series relating to each of the major homes and organisations associated with or run by the Field Lane Association including the Home Workers Aid Association and the 5 holiday or retirement homes: Eastwood, Dovers, The Priory, Holly Hill and Singholm. There is also a set of annual reports from 1847-1996 and a series of printing blocks used for many of the Field Lanes' publications.

The collection contains the administrative papers of the Barbican Arts Group Trust including policy documents; minutes of meetings; financial records; property records; and artists' details. In addition, the collection includes a range of visual material showing artists and their work as well as printed publicity material for exhibitions. The Trust's outreach work is represented through a number of school packs and booklets.

The series includes the petitions of individuals seeking residence in the Asylum (arranged alphabetically and these have been indexed by name); a registers of residents at the Asylum 1827-1960; papers relating to the Asylum Chapel from 1847; and a small series of photographs and prints including an album of photographs of the asylum chapel, memorial tablest and portraits of chairmen.

LMA/4662/LVNH/06 Residential Homes: Denham Garden Village (1958-2001) includes an interesting series of pocket books giving information on the homes and a series of photographs mainly of the annual garden party held in Denham.

LMA/4662/LVNH/07 Residential Homes: Edinburgh Estates (1960-1980) a series of photographs of other estates run by the LVNH.

LMA/4662/LVNH/08 Publicity and Media (1877-2004) includes a set of press cutting scrap books from 1887-1957, publications and examples of souvenir programmes and magazines produced by LVNH, and a series of photographs of LVNH events including the change of keys ceremony and fundraising.

LMA/4662/LVNH/09 Beer and Wine Benevolent Society (1834-1968) covering its foundation, Governance, finance until it merged with the LVNH in 1968. Also includes papers and plans about the asylum they ran, a 1954 annual report and a few photographs.
