Two of these volumes are described as private minute books, and record discussions at board meetings of matters such as directors' salaries. Two volumes record the minutes of annual and extraordinary general meetings.

The records consist of bound, printed minutes which include agenda, reports and appendices for both the Insurance Committee for the County of London, the Inner London Executive council and its constituent committees and joint committees. Most of the series of minutes are complete.

Papers, 1893-1959, collected by the solicitors in the course of their work, comprising deeds and legal documents relating to 27 Northolme Road, Highbury, Islington; including conveyance, mortgage, abstracts of title, assignment of leasehold and copy of will.

Records of Archbishop Tenison's Grammar School (formerly known as Archbishop Tenison's Secondary School for Boys). Most important are the Trustees' and Governors' meetings minutes 1847-1953 (ref: Acc/2692/17-19). An unusual survival has been a number of evacuation records, which do not exist for many schools in London (ref: Acc/2692/142-148). Illustrations of the school and its life are present in a volume of plans of the school site at Kennington Oval dated 1927 (by A.H.R. Tenison, Architect, ref: Acc/2692/154), and in the large collection of photographs (ref: Acc/2692/155-205). Concerning the sale of the library in 1861 is a Catalogue from Sotheby's which records the prices fetched at auction for individual books (ref: Acc/2692/209). A history of the school, not entirely accurate, was written in 1928 and a transcript survives (ref: Acc/2692/240).

Records of bodies connected with the United Synagogue to a greater or lesser extent are also included in this collection, such as the Office of the Chief Rabbi, London Beth Din and Beth Hamedrash, the Kashrut Commission and various Jewish friendly societies and charities. The United Synagogue's close links with Anglo-Jewish education are also represented in the collection, including records of individual schools such as the Jews' Free School. Note: this volume is an artificial compilation made by the donor based on research notes and transcription from original.

Records of the London Head Teachers Association, formerly the School Board for London Head Teachers Association, including Minute Books; Attendance Registers; Year Books/Diaries; Handbooks; Calendars; Publications; Reports; Programmes and Tickets and Personal Papers.

The records illustrate the varied activities of the LHTA and includes a good selection of Minute Books for Council and other committees. There is also a fine series of SBLHTA and LHTA Yearbooks and handbooks which include a full list of London Schools with names of head teachers.

Records of other activities are also included, for example, menus and programmes for social functions and guides to the Annual Exhibition at Westminster Central Hall. There is a small amount of material relating to Miss Louisa La Teller Swann, LHTA president 1928-9.

Correspondence of Chief Rabbi Nathan Adler, 1868-1901. A small number of records survive from around 1868 for the Chief Rabbinate of Nathan Adler and more from the late 1870s onwards - around the time Hermann Adler began to undertake many of his father's duties for him. The records consist of bundles of letters to the Chief Rabbi from communal organisations and individuals in Britain and overseas.
